Our story is woven
into every piece.
What started as selling canisters at a market stall in the Far North, we now want to share with the rest of Aotearoa and beyond.
From Taipā, with aroha.
We're Māori sisters, retired and happily settled in beautiful Taipā in the Far North. We chose to come back to our whenua, to reconnect with our land, our culture, and the people we love.
Out of that came a passion for creating. For designing taonga rooted in Māori art and sharing that with our whānau and local community throughout the markets of Doubtless Bay and the surrounding areas. This gave us the perfect place to do just that.
What started as a market stall around the Far North has grown into something bigger. Coastal Homestead is our way of bringing that passion to the rest of Aotearoa and beyond.
"Coastal Homestead is our connection to home and to the hands that make each piece with care."
Handcrafted at home.
Every design is drawn from our Māori artistic lens, as a way of keeping our connection to culture alive. These aren't decorations — they carry meaning, whakapapa, and the landscape we come from.
We make things to be used. To sit on your bench, to be picked up every morning, to become part of your everyday. That's what taonga is. Not something locked in a cabinet. Something lived with.
Made with purpose. Built to last.
Māori-owned
We are proud Māori wāhine. Coastal Homestead is our business, our vision, and our labour of love.
Far North roots
Everything we make is inspired by the landscape, the people, and the stories of Tai Tokerau.
Handcrafted at home
Not mass produced. Every piece is chosen and curated with intention, quality, and aroha.
Made for everyday life
Taonga doesn't have to sit in a cabinet. Ours is made to be used, loved, and passed on.
Nō mātou ki a koutou.
From our whānau to yours. Come find something for your bench.
